News Director & Multimedia Producer, Web designer, Community Organizer
I lead a team of 60-plus student volunteers, helping them build their skills in producing quality media. After getting to college, I saw the road ahead of me was paved with ideas and was sparse with exact direction of what to create. I proceeded to hijack a dying campus news team (it only had one volunteer) and make it into a fully-fledged producing powerhouse.
No new media production of mine is complete without incorporating something new, it needs something new stylistically, some new technique, or a new way of presenting a fact. I refuse to submit something for award recognition if I wasn’t reinventing my sound in the recording.
As of now, I’m a report for KGNU Community Radio and an editor of Colorado United Workers Press. I stand by working with independent, community focused organizations. Public media allows my creativity to stay mine and for me directly serve a community need.
